1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how TQ Tech (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the AutoTrim mobile application (“the App”).
By using AutoTrim, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Summary
- We do not upload your audio or video to our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs in the App.
- Most data stays on your device (trim history, settings, exported files).
- If you contact us by email, you choose what information you send.
3. Information We Do Not Collect Automatically
We do not automatically collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Account credentials (the App does not require an account)
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos, or messages unrelated to files you choose
- Your audio or video content for upload to our servers
4. Information Stored on Your Device
AutoTrim stores the following locally on your device to provide core functionality:
4.1 Audio and video you choose to edit
When you select a file through the Android system file picker, AutoTrim accesses only the file you choose so it can analyze and trim it. Processing happens on your device.
4.2 Trimmed output and export history
The App may save:
- Trimmed audio files in the App’s private storage and/or your device’s Music/AudioTrim folder (when you choose “Save to device”)
- A local history index containing file display name, local file path, original and trimmed duration, creation timestamp, and file type (MIME type)
If you delete an item from History, AutoTrim removes its local record and attempts to delete the associated saved file.
4.3 App settings and preferences
Stored using Android DataStore on your device:
- Silence threshold and keep-silence settings
- Default export format
- Theme preference (light/dark/system)
- Whether onboarding was completed
- Optional onboarding content-type preference (e.g., podcasts, lectures)
- Haptic feedback preference
This information is used only to personalize your experience inside the App.
5. Permissions
AutoTrim may request or use the following permissions:
The App checks for an active internet connection before starting silence removal. Your media is still processed on your device; we do not upload it because of this permission.
To detect whether your device is online.
To let you open files you select, save trimmed output, and share results. On modern Android versions, access is provided through the system file picker rather than broad storage access.
Android 9 and below only: to save trimmed audio to your device when required by older Android versions.
You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings, though some features may stop working.
6. Information You Choose to Share With Us
If you contact us for support or feedback via TQTechOfficial@gmail.com, you choose what to send. Support emails may automatically include technical details to help us troubleshoot, such as:
- App name, version, and package name
- Device manufacturer, model, and Android version
- Locale, time zone, and screen resolution
We use this information only to respond to your request and improve the App.
If you rate or review AutoTrim on Google Play, that activity is handled by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy.
If you use Android’s share sheet to send feedback or share the App, the app you select (email, messaging, etc.) handles that data under its own privacy policy.
7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
AutoTrim offers optional premium plans (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) through AutoTrim Pro. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play.
We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google handles payment information according to Google’s Privacy Policy. We receive only the purchase information Google provides to developers, such as subscription status and entitlement to Pro features.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your Google Play account settings.
8. Third-Party Services
AutoTrim does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or social tracking services.
The App uses standard Android system components and libraries (such as Jetpack Compose, Media3, and DataStore) that run locally on your device and do not transmit your media to us.
Purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. Links to Google Play (for ratings, sharing, subscriptions, or the app listing) are opened in Google’s services when you choose to use them.
9. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may disclose information only:
- If you voluntarily send it to us (e.g., support email)
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, TQ Tech, or the public
We do not share your audio or video files with third parties.
10. Data Retention
- On-device data (history, settings, trimmed files) remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear App data.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and maintain reasonable support records, unless a longer period is required by law.
11. Backup and Device Transfer
AutoTrim has Android backup enabled. Depending on your device and Google account settings, some App data may be included in Google’s device backup service. Backup content is controlled by Android/Google, not stored on TQ Tech servers. You can manage backup settings in your Android/Google account settings.
12. Children’s Privacy
AutoTrim is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at TQTechOfficial@gmail.com and we will delete it.
13. Security
Because your media is processed on your device and not uploaded to our servers, you retain primary control over your files. We design the App to minimize data collection, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
14. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information.
Because most AutoTrim data is stored locally on your device, you can:
- Delete history items inside the App
- Clear App storage in Android settings
- Uninstall the App
- Contact us at TQTechOfficial@gmail.com regarding information you sent us directly
15. International Users
AutoTrim is operated by TQ Tech. If you use the App from outside your home country, information you voluntarily send us (such as support emails) may be processed in locations where we or our email/service providers operate.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may also notify you in the App or on our store listing. Continued use of AutoTrim after an update means you accept the revised policy.
